Made-to-measure lazy bags

A lazy bag catches your mainsail as it drops and zips closed over the top, so the sail is stowed and covered in seconds. Made to your boom and sail in our Pwllheli loft, from £145 per metre of boom length.

Why a lazy bag

Drop the main and it falls straight into the bag: no flaking along the boom, no sail ties and no separate cover to fit.

A lazy bag, sometimes called a stack pack, stays on the boom. Lazy lines from the mast hold it open while you lower the sail, then you zip it closed to protect the sail from UV and weather. It’s one of the best upgrades for short-handed and family crews.

Fantastic service, fixed our sail quickly when we tore a seam en route elsewhere so didn't delay our plans too much. If you're lucky you'll even meet a cute four-legged helper!

Lazy bag FAQs

We’re here to help

Can’t see your question? Call us on +44 1758 613266 and you’ll speak to the person doing the work.

Ask us a question

What is a lazy bag?

A lazy bag, or stack pack, is a sail cover that stays on the boom. Lazy lines from the mast hold it open, the mainsail drops straight into it, and you zip it closed to protect the sail.

How much does a lazy bag cost?

Our lazy bags are £145 per metre of boom length, so a 4 m boom works out at £580. UK delivery is included, and we’ll confirm a fixed price once we’ve checked your measurements.

How do I measure for a lazy bag?

Use the diagram on this page to take the six measurements, A to F, with the sail flaked on the boom. If you’d like help, we can talk you through it on a FaceTime call while you’re on board.

Will it work with a loose-footed or bolt-rope mainsail?

Yes. Our lazy bags work with loose-footed mainsails and those with a bolt rope or sliders. Just tell us which you have on the form.

Do I need to send you my sail or boom?

No. We make your lazy bag from the measurements you send us, so there’s nothing to post or drop off.

What colours can I choose?

PU-coated acrylic from Solacryl or Sauleda comes in a wide range of colours, so we can match your sprayhood and covers. Ask us if you’d like to see samples.

How long does a lazy bag take?

It depends on the time of year. We’ll confirm a lead time with your quote, and it’s worth ordering ahead of the spring rush.
